THE CHARING SURGERY, Charing, Ashford, Kent
The Charing Surgery project consisted of a sizeable extension to an existing doctor’s surgery. The design included the provision of 7 new consulting rooms, a large up-to-date pharmacy sales area and dispensary (incorporating the state of the art dispensing robot shown in our gallery photos), a large waiting area complete with electronic patient check in and patient call system and 4 new domestic flats at first and second floor level, above the surgery.
For this new build contract, our work commenced in December 2008 and was fully completed and commissioned on schedule, in April 2009.

M & S Electrical (UK) Ltd were commissioned to install all of the power and lighting requirements, as designed by local architect Richard Bailey, the Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting Systems, Security and new 4 way Door Entry System (including control wiring and multiple switch control for the newly installed security roller shutters in place throughout the extension) and the installation of new Cat 5 data cabling together with the extension of the existing Cat 5 data cabling from the original surgery.

For each of the four flats above the Surgery we installed all general power and lighting requirements, again as designed by architect Richard Bailey, as well as a ‘Dimplex’ designed electric heating system incorporating the latest ‘Duoheat’ radiators and EPX panel convector heaters. A full ventilation system was also installed by M & S Electrical for the kitchen and bathroom areas of each flat and also the kitchen area and WC’s serving the Surgery extension at Ground Floor.

As with all of our electrical work, this installation was carried out in line with the current IEE Wiring Regulations BS7671.

SLM Toyota , St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex
The SLM Toyota project was part of a massive development to provide a new car showroom and extensive workshop facilities for the SLM Toyota Group whose success in the local new and used car market had led them to fast outgrow their existing facilities in a neighboring town.

For this contract, our work commenced in May 2005 and was fully completed and commissioned on schedule, in November 2005, in time for the grand opening on November 7th.
The electrical specifications, given to M & S Electrical for this development were to provide 230Vpower and lighting installations to the Main Showroom and Office areas and 400V power, lighting and machinery installations to the Workshop facilities.

Our work at SLM Toyota included various wiring systems such as cable tray, metal and plastic trunking and dado trunking. We undertook the complete installation of a suitable ventilation system using the Vent Axia ‘T series’ extractors, installed a full underfloor heating system and carried out all of the wiring required for the newly installed boiler system.

M & S Electrical were also commissioned to install a full Fire Alarm System for the site, Emergency Lighting provision across all areas, a Category 5 data system and installation of the site telephone wiring.

External socket outlets and a large number of lampposts were also supplied and installed by us, lighting both the car parking and sales areas outside and providing the power requirements necessary.

M & S Electrical (UK) Ltd have maintained a strong working relationship with SLM Toyota, and the St Leonards Motors Group in general, providing a regular maintenance and call out service to all of their local sites, carrying out many new installations to the Groups premises’ and continuing to fully service the SLM Toyota site Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting systems on an annual basis – split over four quarterly visits - in order to comply with current regulations.

As with all of our electrical work, this installation was carried out in line with the current IEE Wiring Regulations BS7671.
